Wednesday Whatnots have Moved!
Just a quick note to tell you that the Whatnots have moved to another blog! I realized after three weeks that they needed their own place to hang out. So, if you're wanting to look at jewelry stuff, check out Southern Sassy Treasures. Everything will have the same format as before....it just won't have to compete with all my book ramblings. :o)

Wednesday Whatnots
It's time for another Wednesday Whatnot! :o)
I want to apologize for how today's pictures look. I have had a hard time figuring out a good setting on my camera (I've got a really nice Kodak....it just has too many settings) so that the pictures look right. Guess I'll just keep tinkering with it.... If you have a suggestion, let me know as I am not a camera-savvy person.

This is a brand new set that I made a couple of weeks ago, and when I finished it, I was a little bit in awe. Unfortunately, this picture does not do it justice.
The focal point of this piece is a beautiful rhinestone pendant that looks very much like a flower. It has a pale green, almost clear stone on the outside, then turquoise stones in the middle. The strand of the necklace consists of pearls (2 different sizes), crackled beads, and hollowed-out silver filigree beads.

Wednesday Whatnots
Here's this week's Wednesday Whatnots! Hope you enjoy! :o)
I love it when I can remake something that used to be something completely different. These beads used to belong to a strand of Christmas tree garland. (I apologize that the flash was so bright on this pic....I realize it's difficult to make out the colors!) This set features beads that have a pearlized finish and are ivory and blue. On the bracelet, the blue beads have a gold finished bead cap on each side to give it some bling. :o) The earrings are on a gold-plated fishwire and have an ivory bead on top, then are connected to a blue bead with the gold bead caps on either side.
Hope you enjoyed both of those! Come back next week and see something that I think is truly stunning. :o)
I made this design a long time ago, and I'm somewhat surprised that I still have it. It's one of my favorites. It's a mix of turquoise glass beads and clear glass beads with silver clasps.

Hope you enjoyed both of those! Come back next week and see something that I think is truly stunning. :o)

Wednesday Whatnots
It's time for a new blog feature, and one that I've wanted to start doing for awhile now. For those of you that don't know, I LOVE making jewelry. It's one of my favorite de-stressing hobbies. Usually, I'll pop in a good movie, sit for a couple hours, and make some new jewelry. Most of what I make I try to sell (except for when I make something that I can't live without!). I'm also trying to get a separate website started just for jewerly, but it is still in the works.
So, Wednesdays on Southern Sassy Things will now be devoted to jewelry, and it will be called Wednesday Whatnots. Each week, I plan to post at least one picture of a new piece that I've just created, maybe 2. I hope you like some of what you see. :o)

The black and white beads in this design were from Blue Moon Beads with some other small black beads that can be found anywhere. The toggle clasp and earring wires have a silver finish.

The pearls in this set were actually from 2 other pieces of jewelry (one brown and one that's a weird orange shade) that I tore apart, and have reused and combined together to make this set. The barrel clasp and earring wires have a gold finish.
