Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It allows bloggers to feature pre-publication books that they are eagerly anticipating! Here's what I'm waiting on this week...
This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:
Here Burns My Candle by Liz Curtis Higgs scheduled to release on 4/13/2010
A mother who cannot face her future. A daughter who cannot escape her past.
Edinburgh 1745
Dowager Lady Marjory Kerr, a widow of substantial means, has two passions in life: maintaining her place in society and coddling her two grown sons. Lady Elisabeth Kerr, wife of the elder son, harbors a dark family secret, buried long ago in distant Aberdeenshire. When tragedy strikes, Janet Kerr, wife of the younger son, finds the ties binding her to Marjory and Elisabeth slowly unraveling.
A timeless tale of loss and redemption, flickering against the vivid backdrop of eighteenth-century Edinburgh, Here Burns My Candle reveals the many flaws of human nature and the bright hope of divine providence.

This sounds wonderful and will definitely be going on my list.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for this book either!!!! It looks sooooo good, the cover is awesome and Liz is a great author!
ReplyDeleteAll her covers are just gorgeous, IMO. I haven't read her Lowlands of Scotland series (think that's what it's called?), but I would like to before this one is released. She's also written 2 contemporary novels that I really liked called Mixed Signals and Bookends.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a 'can't put it down' novel!
